- Solicitation number W15QKN-04-Q-0201 is amended as follows: The US Army TACOM-ARDEC has a competitive requirement to procure a High temperature Hydrogen Atmosphere Batch Furnace system to sinter and heat-treat powder metallurgy armament components for the Powder Metallurgy RD&E Center. The furnace must have an operating temperature of 1700 degrees Centigrade, chamber dimensions of approximately 16?x16?x16?, multi-recipe programmable ramp and soak controller,programmable mixing panel for N2, Ar, Dissociated Ammonia and H2, rapid purge, dew point and oxygen analyzers. The furnace must have, as a minimum, the following safety requirements: 1) Audible and visual alarms to indicate nitrogen pressure failure 2) Over-temperature condition that will shut off the heating while activating an alarm 3) Burn-off stack with failed dual SiC igniters that will turn on a visual alarm, shut down the furnace, switch from hydrogen to nitrogen, as well as activating alarms 4) Electrically interlocked door will prevent furnace from being opened while hydrogen is in use The completion date is 120 days after contract award.
