- Description
- Sources Sought for an Independent Medical Doctor (M.D.) to review requests and provide recommendations for approval or disapproval for premium class travel upgrades provided by other medical authorities that are based upon medical disability or other physical impairment. This notice issued by the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Office of Chief of Staff is to identify possible sources capable of providing medical review services. The reviewer must be able to validate a nexus between the medical disability or physical impairment and the need for premium travel upgrade. Review is based upon medical documentation submitted by traveler. Brief telephonic consultations with traveler's physician may be needed occasionally. Qualifications: Licensed medical doctor (M.D.) knowledgeable in medical effects and implications of air travel on various medical conditions and physical impairments. Workload data: Estimated to be 30-40 reviews per year. Privacy Act: In addition to the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, P.L. 104-191, as applicable, the contractor agrees to protect the individual privacy information provided for review consistent with the Privacy Act of 1974, P.L. 93-579, 5 U.S.C.552a. All information received from this announcement will be compiled and used for planning purposes. Any proprietary information received should be marked appropriately. Sources are urged to describe their medical capability in sufficient detail to allow DoDEA to define subsequent proposal opportunities. Any vendor interested in providing this service should submit a capability statement to Sharla R. Ross. The information received in response to this announcement will be reviewed and summarized. Recommendations may form the content of a procurement action that DoDEA may issue at a future date. Schedule Deadline for Submission: 15 March 2004.
