- Description
- The Department of the Navy, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego, California, intends to award a time and materials contract for approximately $90,000 to Sporian Microsystems, Inc., 4699 Nautilus Court South, Boulder, Colorado, on a sole source basis. The purpose of this action is for design, fabrication, and assembly of a custom hermetically sealable electronic package to house the Micro-Electro-Mechanical Ultra Sensitive Accelerometer (MEMS USA) device. This custom package will allow for subsequent handling of the accelerometer during environmental and electrical evaluation. The package must include a Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL), a thermal electric cooler (TEC) for temperature stabilization and a thermistor for temperature monitoring and will use a commercially available TO-8 header. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within fifteen days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334419 and the size standard is 500 employees.
