- Description
- The U. S. Department of the Interior, Minerals Management Service/GovWorks, intends to make a firm-fixed price, sole source award to GEOMAXIM, Asheville, NC. GovWorks/DOI intends to issue a Contract in accordance with FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items and 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This non-competitive action is being issued by GovWorks under the authority of the U. S. Department of Interior Franchise Fund on behalf of the United States Geological Survey. The USGS has a requirement for the acquisition of services to provide the National Spatial Data Infrastructure Implementation Liaison to provide metadata collaboration between the Federal Geographic Data Committee, GeoSpatial One Stop Initiative (E-Gov) and its partners. The estimated total value of this project is $490,000. Contract provides the FGDC expertise in the numerous areas of metadata: standard interpretation, creation, program administration, trainer-training and training, training materials development, and standards development and implementation. GEOMAXIM is the only vendor with the extensive experience and knowledge in geospatial metadata. GeoMaxim is recognized in the geospatial community as an expert in metadata through its activities as a metadata creation contractor and instructor, metadata program implementation consultant, and metadata standards content expert. No other vendors have the capability to immediately assess needs, plan appropriate courses of action, and to provide the geospatial community with the ability to implement an evolving metadata standard and to facilitate data sharing access and sharing in a quickly advancing technological environment This is NOT a request for competitive quotes. The intent of this Special Notice is for informational purposes only. However, all information received by 4:30 p.m. EST March 15, 2004, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this action based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
