- Sierra Army Depot is seeking interested and potential sources capable of fabricating High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) Armor Door Kits. Minimum required capabilities include the capabilities to cut with water jet, laser, or plasma 4 x 12 foot sheets of 3/8-inch thick rolled homogeneous armor plate, IAW MIL-A 12560, to a tolerance of 0.015 inch, which would be provided by the government. The largest item to be fabricated is 33 X 41 inches. Items not made of armor plate mostly consist of structural steel plate IAW ASTM-A36 from 0 .1875 to 0.875 thick. Must be able to bend armor plate. Additional desired capability is the ability to have fabricated parts painted with Chemical Agent Resistant Coating (CARC) paint to be provided by the government. Interested parties must be capable of a production rate of 60 complete sets per week as a minimum, with production commencing within 1 week of notification of a potential contract award. Based on required per week quantities, the duration of the production run is expected to be completed by 17 April 2004. Drawings will not be provided as part of this sources sought. Interested parties would be responsible for arranging delivery of completed products to Sierra Army Depot. Sierra Army Depot i s located in Herlong, CA approximately 60 miles northwest of Reno, Nevada on U.S. Highway 395. Interested parties are invited to submit the following information to Tracy Marino via email tracy.marino@sierra.army.mil or fax to 530-827-4722: 1) Experience and capability in performing this type of work; 2) Whether work will be performed in-house or partially subcontracted out; 3) Ability to operate at an expected virtual 24 hour/7 day a week pace to meet production requirements. As part of you response ple ase include delivery capabilities per week if you would anticipate quantities greater than 60 sets per week. This notice shall not be construed as a Request For Proposal, Request For Quote, Invitation For Bid, or as an obligation on the part of the Govern ment to acquire follow-on acquisitions, however the Government may at its discretion award a contract(s) on the basis of this Notice, but is in no way obligated to pay for the information requested. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this notice and Government use of such information. The Government recognizes that proprietary data may be part of this effort. If so included, clearly mark such restricted or p roprietary data and present it as an addendum to the non-restricted/non-proprietary information. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS AT THIS TIME, however the government will review responses to identify firms potentially capable of fulfilling the Governments requirements. A response to this notice in no way obligates the government to enter into a potential contract.
