- The VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System on behalf of VISN 16 intends to award a sole source contract, under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1 to UpToDate, Inc. 34 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA 02481 for an online database to access clinical resource information provided for VISN 16 site(s): Alexandria VA Medical Center, Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, Fayetteville VA Medical Center, G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center, Houston VA Medical Center, Muskogee VA Medical Center, Oklahoma City VA Medical Center, Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, and VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System. UpToDate topic reviews are written exclusively by physicians for physicians, nearly 3,000 physicians serve as authors. The on-line subscription covers twelve medical specialties such as: Adult Primary Care & Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Endocrinology & Diabetes, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Hematology, Infectious Diseases, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Oncology, Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine, Nephrology & Hypertension, Rheumatology and Family Practice. Software also contains more than 10,000 graphics, 100,000 Medline abstracts, as well as, a complete drug database. A new version is released every four months or three times per year. All new and revised material is supplied at no additional cost. Qualified businesses other than the sole source company (UpToDate, Inc.) must identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by submitting their capabilities in writing to the Contracting Officer on or before March 18, 2004 3:00 p.m. Central Time. Fax submission will be allowed. All qualified offerors shall be considered. If no responses are received by March 18, 2004, the VA shall proceed with negotiations with UpToDate.
