This proposed acquisition is for a requirements contract which will be segregated into four (4) program periods with orders to be issue d one or more times as requirements materialize. However, this does not preclude the Government from ordering the maximum quantity at any time during the requirements period. The known quantity is 12, and the maximum quantity is 52. Destination to be fur nished. Delivery Schedule 100 days after contract award. The closing date annotated is an estimated date and may be adjusted dependent upon the date of release of solicitation; however, solicitation will not close prior to the closing date stated above. Offerors must be approved and qualified. The Government does not possess sufficient documentation to acquire these items from other than the qualified source. A technical data package, which defines all engineering and quality requirements, is not availa ble. This proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one, or a limited number of sources. Suggest, that small business firms or others interested in subcontracting opportunitie s in connection with this procurement make contact with the firm(s) listed. Foreign firms are reminded that requests for solicitation must be processed through their respective embassies. Request for proposal will be issued to Smiths Aerospace Inc. Actua tion Systems -- Whippany, 110 Algonquin Parkway, Whippany, NJ 07981-1640 (Cage Code 81039). All responsible sources may submit a bid /proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by this agency, request solicitation package from address above, ATTN: AMSAM-AC-LS-T, FAX Number 256-842-6108.
