- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) anticipates contracting for Borescope Blending Repair Services to the US Government and the Government of Italy for repair of installed F402-RR-406B and F402-RR-408A/B engines on the AV-8B Harrier. The service shall include inspection of candidate engines and repair of those engines worldwide (including blending of up to 12 blades per engine) and documentation of the repair. The Contractor’s borescope system shall be capable of detecting cracks emanating from the blended region and must be capable of measuring and recording damage located within the engine The Contractor shall be required to travel to the sites immediately, blend and inspect compressor blades on engines installed in the aircraft and document and photograph the repair. The Contractor must be capable of supporting a minimum of two borescope efforts simultaneously. The Contractor is required to provide all tooling and equipment necessary to perform the services. This procurement is being conducted under FAR Part 12 commercial contracting methods. The Government intends to award a one- year base period with four-one year options. It is the potential offeror’s responsibility to monitor the NAVAIR website for the release of any solicitation and/or amendments. Please note that all prospective contractors must be resisted in the Central Contractors Registration (CCR) database, http://www.ccr.gov, in order to participate in this procurement. This solicitation is unrestricted. It is anticipated that the draft RFP will be released 19 Mar 2004 and reside on the NAVAIR website (http://www.navair.navy.mil).
