- Description
- SITE PREPARATION - This portion of the Solicitation requires services for grapple piling of logging slash andn the uprooting and piling live vegetative material with a LIFT AND PILE mechanism- grapple excavator- rather than a PUSH AND PILE mechanism- tractor with a blade. Work to be performed on slopes up 30 percent. The objective is to create planting sites, eliminate vegetative competition, and reduce the slash layer to a depth of 2 to 6 inches. Logs greater than 14 inches in diameter will be left in place. FUELS REDUCTION - This portion of the Solicitation requires services for grapple piling of logging slash with a LIFT AND PILE mechanism- grapple excavator -rather than a PUSH AND PILE mechanism- tractor and blade. Work to be performed on slopes up to 30 percent. The objective is to reduce the fuel loading that remains following commercial thinning. Logs greater than 10 inches in diameter on the small end will be left in place. The Contractor shall furnish all equipment, fuel, maintenance, labor, supervision, transportation, materials, tools, supplies, and incidentals necessary to perform the job. The NAICS code for this project is 115310. Solicitation documents will be posted on this site only on or about February 28, 2004. Response date is March 22, 2004.
