Description
Air Force Research Laboratory, Human Effectiveness Directorate (AFRL/HE) solicits research proposals on Research Operations for Advanced Warfighter Interface (ROADWIT). The objective of the overall program is to provide research operations for the Warfighter Interface Technology Division (AFRL/HEC) at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. The mission of AFRL/HEC is to conceive, develop, evaluate, integrate and transition science and technology that revolutionizes the control, information, and cognitive interface with Air Force systems to enable optimum decision-making by commanders, operators, and support personnel. Research is performed in the following areas: battlespace acoustics, battlespace visualization, cognitive systems, collaborative interfaces, and system control interfaces. Within each of these research areas there are a number of laboratories that perform research. These laboratories are reconfigured and new laboratories are created to answer specific issues related to warfighter interface technologies that develop in various operational scenarios. The contractor will work with government lead scientists and engineers to develop research protocols, perform research, analyze results and produce reports in the research areas and laboratories within AFRL/HEC. When required, the contractor will reconfigure existing laboratories or create new laboratories to perform research related to new topics within the major research areas. In addition, the contractor will provide support, related to research being done under this contract, to the computer network of research computers. This consists of about 200 networked and stand-alone computers. A video teleconferencing center, which is used for collaboration with other research organizations, will also be supported for use relating to research being accomplished under this contract. A media graphics area is required for the production of high quality presentations and video production to illustrate research concepts. Use of the media graphics are will only be related to research being done under this contract.
