- Description
- This procurement requires the contractor to deactivate, tear down, remove, and ship the NSRR Mid Course Radar(MCR). As a result of Base Reallocation and Closure, the Navy requires these radars removed NLT 1 July 2004. The Contract will be awarded to Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS). NGMS has a number of unique capabilities that the Navy could not obtain from other sources without significant schedule or cost impacts. The NGMS personnel currently maintaining the equipment are those responsible for the design and operation of the system. Dismantling, packing and shipping in a safe, secure and expeditious manner by someone other than Northrop Grumman Mission Systems would require an extensive training and familiarization process.
