Description
SCOPE OF WORK 1.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 1.1 The contractor shall provide all labor, tools, materials, equipment, insurance, bonds, construction permits and supervision to complete the project. The contractor may visit the project site to make necessary measurements in order to determine the extent of the work necessary to accomplish the prescribed work. 1.2 The contractor shall be required to obtain a Tribal Business License. Contact person: Wendy Farmer Business License Officer Phone: 208-478-3725 1.3 The contractor shall be required to file a TERO compliance plan. The compliance fee shall be 1% of the contract amount. The contractor shall warrant that all work, materials, components, equipment, and installation utilized in the performance of the work under this contract, shall conform to the contract requirements and shall be free from defects in equipment, material or design furnished, or workmanship performed by the contractor. This warranty shall be for a period of not less than one year from the date of final acceptance by the owner. 1.5. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with the current Life Safety Code NFPA 101 and all work shall comply with all applicable standards, including: ?Uniform Building Code (UBC) ?Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) ?Steel Door Institute (SDI) 1.6 Storage of equipment and materials at the worksite shall be coordinated with the Facility Manager. All the work and materials shall be properly protected at all times. The contractor shall be responsible for any repair or damage to the building, government property and surrounding areas and restore to previous condition at no additional cost to the owner if damage occurs during the accomplishment of the work. 1.7. The contractor shall remove all old equipment, hardware, debris, rubbish and other materials resulting from the work project at job completion and deposit the debris at an approved landfill or disposal site. The owner shall designate what shall be salvaged and returned to the owner. 1.8 All work shall be accomplished on weekdays and on Saturdays only. No work shall be accomplished on Sundays. The contractor shall coordinate working hours with the Facility Manager. Contact person: Robert Biddle Facility Manager Phone: 208-238-5414 1.9 The contractor shall attend a preconstruction conference with the Facility Manger to review project scope of work and project details before work on the project begins. 1.10 The owner shall provide barricades and prevent access around the working areas on a daily basis as needed to prevent accident and to maintain safe conditions. 1.11 After the contract is awarded, the contractor shall complete all work within 60 calendar days. 2.0 EXECUTION 2.1 Demolition: Remove exterior metal doors and interior wood doors, hardware, exit devices, closers and thresholds at the locations indicated in the Door Schedule and Finished Hardware Schedule. 2.2 Installation: Install exterior metal doors and interior wood doors, hardware, exit devices and closers by the type of door at the locations indicated in the Door Schedule and Finished Hardware Schedule. 2.3 Hardware: For finished hardware installations see Finished Hardware Schedule. 3.0 EXTERIOR METAL DOORS 3.1 Exterior metal doors shall be rigid, neat in appearance and free from defects, warp or buckle and shall comply with ANSI A250.8-1998, Level 3 Extra Heavy-duty, Model 2, minimum MSG 16 GA faces. 3.2 Fabricate exposed faces of doors form only cold-rolled steel. 3.3 Exposed fasteners: Unless otherwise indicated, provide countersunk flat Phillips heads for exposed screws and bolts. 3.4 Finish Hardware Preparation: Prepare doors to receive mortised and concealed finish hardware in accordance with Finish Hardware Schedule and templates provided by hardware supplier. Comply with applicable requirements of ANSI A115 series specifications for door preparation for hardware. 3.5 Reinforce doors to receive surface-applied hardware. Drilling and tapping for surface-applied hardware may be done at project site. 3.6 Door installation: Fit hollow metal doors accurately in existing frames, within clearances specified in ANSI A250.8-1998. 3.7 Adjust and Clean: Immediately after erection, sand smooth any rusted or damaged area or prime coat and apply touch up of compatible air-drying primer. 4.0 INTERIOR FLUSH WOOD DOORS 4.1 Doors shall all be obtained from a single manufacturer. 4.2 Solid Core Doors for Transparent Finish: Comply with the following requirements: A. Faces: Red oak, solid core plain slice. B. AWI Grade: Custom 5 or 7 ply. C. Construction: Solid wood block, wood particleboard, or mineral with wood blocks, as required by door manufacturer to comply with specified warranty period. 4.3 Fitting Clearances for Non-rated Doors: Provide 1/8?h at jambs and heads; 1/8?h per leaf at meeting stiles for pairs of doors; and 1/8?h from bottom of door to top of decorative floor finish or covering. Where threshold is shown or scheduled, provide 1/4?h clearance from bottom of door to top of threshold. 4.4 Fitting Clearances for Fire-rated Doors: Comply with NFPA 80 ?gStandard for Fire Doors and Fire Windows?h. 4.5 Bevel non-rated Doors: 1/8?h in 2?h at lock and hinge ends. 4.6 Bevel Fire-rated Doors: 1/8?h in 2?h in lock edge; trim stiles and rails only to extent permitted by labeling agency. 4.7 Adjusting and Protection: A. Operation: Rehang or replace doors which do not swing or operate freely. B. Finished Doors: Refinish or replace doors damaged during installation. C. Protect doors as recommended by door manufacturer to assure that wood doors will be without damage or deterioration at time of substantial completion. 5.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE 5.1 Steel Doors shall comply with Steel Door Institute ?gRecommended Specifications for Standard Steel Doors and Frames (ANSI A250.8-1998) (SDI-100). 5.2 Fire-rated Assemblies: Where fire-rated door assemblies are indicated or required, provide fire-rated door assemblies that comply with NFPA 80 ?gStandard for Fire Doors and Fire Windows?h, and have been tested, listed and labeled in accordance with NFPA 252 ?gStandard Methods of Fire Tests of Door Assemblies?h, current editions. 6.0 SAFETY AND PROTECTION OF PROPERTY 6.1 All doorways and aisles shall be kept clear of equipment and materials at all times. 6.2 Clean drop cloths and other suitable covering will be used to protect the property and all work areas will be left in an ?gas found?h condition. 6.3 The contractor shall keep all work areas neat and orderly at all time. 6.4 The owner is responsible to inform the contractor of any known hazards that may exist at the jobsite. 6.5 The contractor shall be responsible to coordinate with the owner and the fire alarm monitoring agency for any requirements to temporarily disable the fire alarm system during the project. 6.6 The contractor shall observe OSHA safety regulations at all times during the performance of the project work. 6.7 The contractor shall report to the owner the existence of any unsafe conditions that prevent the performance of this project in a safe manner. 6.8 The contractor shall become familiar with the building layout, security requirements, vehicle access, fire extinguisher, emergency exists and emergency evacuation plans. 7.0 SUBMITTALS 7.1 The contractor shall submit manufacturer?fs technical product data substantiating the products comply with requirements, including: A. Exterior metal doors B. Exit devices C. Interior wood doors D. Closers E.
