Description
NSN 7R-1430-01-226-8646, Qty 110 EA, Delivery FOB Origin-- This announcement is an amendment to the 13 Feb 04 announcement which detailed the Naval Inventory Control Point's intention to solicit a proposal for Peformance Based Logistics (PBL) support of the APG 65/73 Radar. The Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia will be soliciting a proposal for Performance Based Logistics support of the APG-65/73 Radar for the F/A-18 and AV-8 aircraft from McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company. This support includes spares availability, asset repair management, engineering support, and other integrated logistics support elements. The requirement demands aggressive pursuit of system reliability improvements through effective configuration and obsolescence management, technology insertion, and innovative product and support improvements. Various operational and repair sites will be supported by this effort. Performance is planned to commence 01 March 2005 and will continue for 5 base years with an option to extend the contract for an additional 5 years. The 10-year estimated value is expected to exceed $500 Mil. The requirement is restricted to MDC/Boeing, the aircraft prime manufacturer, because MDC/Boeing is the only source that possesses the full range of technical data, much of which is proprietary, and other capabilities necessary to perform the effort. Further, MDC/Boeing is considered to be the only source that is capable of providing the whole range of integrated program support that is required., See Note 22 *****
