- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District is issuing this request for quote (RFQ) for Douglas Fir timbers, #1 grade, rough cut with sound square edges for the Albany Field Offic e. This project is a small business set-aside. The applicable NAICS Code is 423310 with a small business size standard of 100 employees. All responsible offerors must submit one quote to be considered. The RFQ(s) will be issued on or about 19 February 2 004. Quotes are due by 12:00 PM on 5 March 2004. The contract specialist on this procurement is Jacquelline Daly (she may be e-mailed at Jacqueline.daly@nan02.usace.army.mil). The technical P.O.C. is William Petronis at 518-273-0870. The media selected for the issuance of the solicitation and amendments shall solely be at the discretion of the Government; accordingly, the media utilized for this project shall be the Internet. Paper copies of this solicitation, and amendments, if any, will be available or i ssued. Interested parties may email to contract specialist in order to request the paper copies of solicitation or download and print the solicitation, at no charge at http://nan.usace.army.mil (contracting opportunities). The solicitation documents are po rtable document files (PDF) and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Minimum system requirements are 486 Based personal computers, Microsoft Windows 3.1 or greater, 8MB application RAM. A registration page is attached to the web site and prospective bidders are required to register and to receive notice of any amendments and /or addenda that may be issued to this solicitation. Those registering are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the mailing list. Registration m ust include the firm's physical address, telephone, a valid fax number and a point of contact Registration Requirements: DFARS 252.204-7004 Required Central Contractor Registration (CCR) applies to this procurement. Prospective contractors must be register ed in the Department of Defense CCR Database prior to award. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make an offeror ineligible for award.
