- Description
- The National Park Service, Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, Bushkill, PA, is seeking sources for salvaged historic hardware for the Marie Zimmermann House near Milford, Pennsylvania. The stone Dutch Colonial Revival-style house was completed in 1912 and adheres to the architectural style criteria. The detailing closely mimics the local vernacular colonial building methods and products. Most of the existing building hardware was manufactured by the Corbin Hardware Manufacturing Company and is designed to pattern from colonial hardware. Examples of pieces sought include, but are not limited to, iron and brass mortise locks, brass door throw latches, cast iron box locks and keepers, and brass window latches. The pieces required shall be functional and exact model matches to the examples of the existing restored Corbin hardware in the possession of the National Park Service. Sources sought are in priority order: 1) Salvaged and restored Corbin hardware, 2) Replicated and restored hardware that most closely match the original hardware; and/or 3) Salvaged and restored matching models from other manufacturers. All pieces shall be in designed functioning condition. This property is on the National Register of Historic Places. The project is abiding by the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Vendors who feel they can furnish the required supplies are invited to submit their contact information and literature, brochures and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. No solicitation document exists; therefore, this information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
