- The Human Effectiveness Directorate of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL/HE) Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is in the process of enhancing the Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Institutions (HBCU/MI) Program in the areas of research and recruitment. In an effort to achieve research and recruitment goals, AFRL/HE has invited schools to the AFRL/HE HBCU/MI Conference. The conference will consist of a presentation regarding the Human Effectiveness Directorate, a description of HE research efforts and tours of the HE research facilities. The HE Directorate is located in three areas and will host a conference at each site. Interested parties may attend one or all of the conferences. The following schedule is provided for each location: Wright-Patterson AFB OH (February 25, 2004; 9:00 - 5:00; Area B, Bldg 441, Auditorium) Research areas: Logistics Readiness, Information Portrayal, Decision Making, Human-System Representation, Aircrew Protection, Predictive Toxicology, Applied Biotechnology, Biomechanics and Modeling Brooks City-Base San Antonio TX (February 27, 2004; 9:00 - 5:00; Bldg 578, Room 218) Research areas: Bioeffects of Optical Radiation and Radio Frequency Radiation, Fatigue Countermeasures, Aircrew Protection, Counter Proliferation Mesa AZ (March 3, 2004; 9:00 – 5:00; Arizona State University, East Campus – Student Union Bldg – Fireside Ballroom) Research Areas: Skill Development, Training Simulation Registration is $15.00 and is required for every individual attending the conference. Registration must be paid by check or cash; checks should be made payable to: BSEO. The registration fee may be paid the day of the conference or in advance by mail to: Martha Williamson, AFRL/HEOR, 2610 Seventh Street, Wright-Patterson AFB OH 45433-7901.
