Description
The following Power Supply and X-Ray tube requirements are obligatory to create a high energy X-Ray facility at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory. The source will have the capability to obtain an X-Ray Output Flux of 10,000,000 photons/cm2 per steradian; it will also have an X-Ray energy range of 8Kev-100Kev (fluoresced x-rays). The source will be used as a “characterization” tool for evaluating x-ray diagnostics used at the LLE OMEGA facility and the NIF during HEDP and ICF experiments. POWER SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS - A. Input Power: 195 to 230 VAC, 3-phase, 60Hz B. Output: Voltage: 0-160 KVDC, negative, continuously variable Current: 0-60 mA Filament: 0 to 10V at 0 to 6A DC C. Regulation: KV Stability: Short term: +- .02% of max. KV within a 10 min. period Long term: +-0.05% of max. KV wihin an 8 hour period Line Regulation: +-0.05% max. for line voltage range of 195V to 230 V Load Regulation: +-0.05% max. of max. KV from no load to full load at any vboltage level exceeding 1KV KV ripple: 0.05% rms max. of max. KV mA Stability: Short term: +-0.05 of max. mA within an 8 hour period D. Accuracy of Measurement KV accuracy: within +-500V of true high voltage output including short and long term drift mA accuracy: within .1mA of true conversion current including short and long term drift E. Dimensions Control/Regulator Section: 22"W x 58"H x 32"D approx. High Voltage: Section 40"D x 50"H x 34"D approx. X-Ray Tube specifications available upon request.
