Description

The South Atlantic Area of the Agricultural Research Service intends to enter into a sole-source contract (one base year and one option year) for maintenance of the Siemens APOGEE Direct Digital Control (DDC) System at the U. S. Vegetable Laboratory, Charleston, SC. The proposed contractor is Control Management, Inc. (CMI), of Charleston. Siemens Building Technologies has provided the Government a written document that CMI is their only authorized dealer in Charleston, and they have exclusive rights to sell, design, install, and service the system 600 APOGEE product line. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest, authorization by Siemens, and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within ten days after date of publication of this synopsis. Therefore, interested persons may identify their capability and respond to the requirement no later than 2:00 p.m. EST on March 1, 2004 to Pat Jones, fax number (706) 546-3444. Award is anticipated on or after March 2, 2004. A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
