Description
The fiscal year 2004 (FY04) Defense Appropriations Act provides $15 million to the Department of Defense Neurofibromatosis Research Program (NFRP) to support innovative research directed toward eliminating Neurofibromatosis. This program is administe red by the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command through the Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP). The NFRP is releasing Program Announcements for six different funding mechanisms in FY04. The name of each fundin g mechanism, its Program Announcement release date, and submission deadline are as follows: Concept Awards, Clinical Trial Development Awards, New Investigator Awards, Investigator-Initiated Research Awards, and Therapeutic Development Awards were all rele ased on 18 February 2004 with a submission deadline of May 04, 2004, 5:00 pm Eastern Time. The Clinical Trial Awards mechanism was also released on 18 February 2004 with a submission deadline of June 29, 2004, 5:00 pm Eastern Time. Detailed descriptions of each of these funding mechanisms, evaluation criteria, and submission requirements can be found in the FY04 NFRP Program Announcement corresponding to that funding mechanism. Each Program Announcement can be downloaded from the CDMRP website (http://cdmrp .army.mil). All applicants will be required to submit one electronic version of their proposal as a PDF file. All documents may be downloaded from the CDMRP website. The website also contains further information about the NFRP and other CDMRP-sponsored pr ograms and events.
