Description
SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston intends to award a sole-source contract to Radeco, LLC, 509 Norwich Avenue, Taftville, CT 06380-1343 to provide Battery Powered Air Particle Samplers. General Specifications: a. The Model H-809B2 Battery Powered Portable Air Sampler is used for collecting air particulate samples in areas where electrical power is not conveniently located. Its sampling capability will vary according to the free filter area and type of filter media used. For example, from a single full battery charge using 50 mm diameter filter paper, a cumulative sampling volume of 10 to 12 cubic meters may be expected when sampling normal atmospheric air. A high density filter and cartridge will reduce the total sample volume to 4 to 5 cubic meters. b.The Model H-809B2 consists of a dual-stage turbine blower direct coupled to a DC motor, and an accurate electronic timer-controller, all powered by a single rechargeable spill-proof battery. Each Model H-809B2 contains its own internally mounted battery charger permitting the battery to be recharged from any conveniently located 110V, 60 Hz, or for international use, 220-240V, 50 Hz source. c.The timer is an internally mounted solid state device, with external operating-time selector switches. Sampling-time intervals from 1 to 99 minutes, in 1 minute intervals, are possible. At the termination of the selected sampling interval, the air sampler turns off. d.All components, including externally mounted timer selector switches, operational controls, and flow rate indicator are mounted on a rugged light-weight aluminum casting, providing the user with a single complete air sampler package. 4.PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS. a.Length:11 inches (maximum) b.Width:9 inches (maximum) c.Height:14 inches (maximum) d.Weight:40 pounds (maximum) 5.FRONT PANEL CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS. a.Time Selection:2 Decade Switches. b.Start:Push button; black; start time cycle and blower motor. c.Stop: Push button, red; stop time cycle and blower motor. d.Power Input: 110V, 60 Hz or 220V, 50 Hz; power to battery charger. 6.SPECIFICATIONS. a.Air Mover:Direct driven turbine blower. b.Motor DC type with self-lubricated bearings. c.Battery:Rechargeable, spill-proof, wet cell; 12 volt, rated at 24 ampere hours with a 24 ampere discharge capability; no additions of water or electrolyte required. Ambient temperature range: operational (0°F to 120°F); storage (-10°F to 110°F). d.Battery Charger:Solid state trickle type; rating - 115V 60 Hz or 220V, 50 Hz supply, min DC rating 3.5 amp o fully discharged battery tapering to trickle on fully charged battery. e.Timer: Range: 1 to 99 minutes in 1 minute increments. Selections:1 to 99 minutes. Accuracy:2% at 20°C. Stability:0.10%/°C; 0°C to 70°C. Initiation:One time start button; runs until sample period is completed or stop button is pushed. f.Air Flow Indicator:Rotometer type; standard calibrated flow rate 30 to 150 LPM using HD-2064-50 filter paper and CP-200 cartridge. g.Filter Holder Adapter:To accept Navy standard filter paper holder, Dwg R. 6525817, 6525818 h.Sampling Rate: 100 LPM through 50 mm diameter HD-2064 filter paper in normal atmospheric air. Sampling rate depends on type of filter papers, charcoal cartridge, and holder sizes used. i.Sampling Capacity:120 minutes of sampling time per full battery charge. j.Power Cable: 2 conductor plus ground; UL approved; 6 feet long. k.Fuse: .5 amp slow-blow. l.Flowmeter shall indicate actual flow with ± 10%. m.Change in Flow vs Time:9% or less during 99 minute sample. n.Flow Rate with Navy filter and holder - 130-150 LPM using Navy standard filter holder (RE Dwg 6525817, 6525818) and Navy standard filter paper (NSN 6640-01-138-5753). Navy filter holder and filter paper will be provided to each offeror on request to enable the offeror to certify that their unit will meet the required Navy flow rate as specified herein. Certification must be submitted with offer. o.All components of the battery operated air sampler shall be self contained as an integral unit. A Firm-Fixed Price Type contract is anticipated. The total estimated value is $321,300.00. The FSC Code is 6665. The NAICS Code is 334519 with a size standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
