- The Government intends to award a contract in accordance with the following descriptions: Under this request for proposal the landfill shall dispose of approximately 1,452 tons of debris, predominately creosote wood timbers, that have been collected from Southeast Louisiana waterways and tributaries and are temporarily stored on seven river barges.    The barges are currently located near Bayou Boeuff Lock in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana near Morgan City.    The landfill is required to be located in Southea st Louisiana and in a reasonable proximity (not more than 300 miles) to the current location of the barges.    Under the current plan, the barges shall be delivered to a State of Louisiana Type I Landfill.    All fleeting and waterway transport shall be perfor med by the US Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, USACE, NOD. Operations Division using government owned/operated marine vessels.    The anticipated performance period is 15 March 2004 through 30 September 2004.    The NAICS code for this requiremen t is 562212. The applicable size standard is $10,500,000. The solicitation anticipated release date is 12 February 2004 with a closing time and date of 12 noon on 27 February 2004.    The Contract Specialist for this requirement is Ms. Nora Cherry, 504-862-1 988. The Request for Proposals (RFP) and all information pertaining to this acquisition will be made available electronically through the Federal Business Opportunities electronic posting system web link at http://www.fedbizopps.gov and USACE New Orleans D istrict homepage at www.mvn.usace.army.mil.    It is and will continue to be all potential offerors responsibility to monitor the fedbizopps website for any amendments, updates, responses to questions and answers as the government will not be maintaining a m ailing list.    It is incumbent upon all potential offerors to download from the fedbizopps website or request an electronic copy of the information by e-mailing Nora.L.Cherry@mvn02.usace.army.mil or by faxing request to 504-862-2892.    Any and all questions in regards to this pre-solicitation notice and the solicitation should be directed to Ms. Nora Cherry.    All requests must identify the Solicitation number, W912P8-04-R-0010, company name, address, phone number including area code, facsimile number and poin t of contact.
