- Description
- The Flathead National Forest will be advertising a Request for Proposals for the Hungry Horse/West Glacier Fuels Reduction Stewardship Project on the Hungry Horse Ranger District, Flathead County, Montana.    Project contains five bid items totalling approximately 213 acres.    Work will consist of stand treatments including tree harvesting, product manufacture in accordance with buyer's specifications, slashing of small trees, piling or otherwise removing slash created by the treatment and existing downed woody material, burning of slash piles (optional bid item), hauling merchantable material to designated location(s), and road maintenance.    Issue date, March 4, 2004.    Estimated Notice to Proceed date is May 17, 2004 for the fuel reduction and October 15, 2004 for the burning of slash piles.    Completion date, November 30, 2004 for the fuel reduction and April 30, 2005 for the burning of slash piles.    Information regarding a Pre-bid Tour will be detailed in the solicitation package.    Attendance at the Tour is strongly encouraged.
