- This is not a solicitation, but rather a Request for Information. The Information Technology, E-Commerce & Commercial Contracting Center ?????? West (ITEC4-W), located at Fort Huachuca, AZ is seeking input from potential sources relative to the foll owing requirement. Requirement: Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) is in the process of identifying a solution for remote access to the Army??????s fixed based network infrastructure. The solution must provide for worldwide dial-up, wired br oadband, and wireless broadband access for all Army remote users. Additionally, VPN (Virtual Private Network), Radius, and CAC (Common Access Card) authentication technologies must be incorporated into the solution. The Army currently provides world wide remote dial-up access using TSACS (Terminal Server Access Controller System). However, due to Army remote network applications requiring increased demand for higher bandwidths, the Army must rely on broadband services. Remote locations where wired acces s points are not available, wireless access points are also needed. In doing so, commercial infrastructure must be relied upon since Army network infrastructure does not extend into all commercial broadband wired and wireless access points worldwide. Inte rested firms should provide a solution for a worldwide dial-up, wired broadband, and wireless broadband capability to the Army.
