- Description
- The VISN 9 Acquisition Service Center intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR Part 6 to UpToDate, Inc for an on-line subscription database to access clinical resource information for a base period of 5 months with 4 one year optional renewal periods. VA requires clinical reference material in electronic form through database access providing: A) ready reference to current consult-level topics in internal medicine and fifteen subspecialties in a format suitable for attending level physicians, students, nurse practitioners, house staff and other point of care health providers. B) VA requires on-line medical subscription database to provide original content, consisting of a minimum of 6000 topic reviews, with a minimum of 3000 contributing authors. C) VA requires CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION UNITS from the online medical subscription database. D) VA requires extensive hyperlinking within and between source documents allowing for links such as drugs used in treatment, literature references, tables and additional information. E) VA requires online subscription to have greatest ease of access with the fewest steps/clicks to connect to the searched subject. F) VA requires online subscription to have the greatest ease of use with navigational links to be readily available to go to specific sections. Qualified businesses other than UpToDate must submit in writing sufficient evidence demonstrating they are able to provide all requirements listed herein (A-F) on or before February 11, 2004, 2:00pm local time.
