Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD), China Lake, CA intends to enter into negotiations for a firm fixed price contract on an other than full and open competition basis to Ampex Data Systems Corporation, 6228 Willow Springs Drive, Morrison, Colorado, 80465 for two each DDRs400 Rugged Instrumentation Disk Recording Complete Systems, with an option for two more, P/N 1309751-01, specifications include: one removable disk pack for storage, disk pack must be minimum of 160Gbytes of storage capacity, must have push button controls and status LCD on front panel of recorder for user use, minimum 400 Mbits/sec sustained data rate, operation temperature at 50,000 ft altitude of at least ?20 degrees Celsius to +25 degrees Celsius, RS 232/422 serial communication port for command and control, data I/O that matches (connector and pinout) the Ampex DCRSi 240 recorder, input operational voltage of 28 VDC per MIL-704D, and total ruggedized weight to be less than 20 pounds. Delivery of the items is FOB destination to the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division China Lake, CA 90 days after receipt of order. Award will be issued under the authority of the test program for commercial items (FAR 13.5). This requirement is limited to AMPEX Data Systems Corporation for the compatibility for the replacement of the instrumentation pallet recorder, which must match the same command and control parameters. Any firms believing that they can provide the above listed Airborne Recorder Module, clearly showing their ability to do so without compromising the quality, accuracy, and reliability of the data and without causing programmatic hardship to the program may submit a written response to be received at the Contracting Office no later than five days after this notification is published. All requests must reference RFQ Number N68936-04-T-0036. These responses shall be submitted in writing to Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Code 210000D, Attn: Lisa Pelzl, China Lake, CA 93555-6100.
