- This announcement is to advise interested parties of the FAA's decision to acquire 20 MALSR systems including design, engineering, and system checkout support for installation of the 20 MALSR Systems. DME Corporation is the current manufacturer of the MALSR System (FA-17900). These systems and installation activities will satisfy FY03 Congressional directions. This announcement IS NOT a screening information request. The FAA intends to purchase the MALSR systems and design, engineering, and checkout support for installation from DME Corporation, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. DME is considered the only source that possesses the unique management and engineering expertise to produce the MALSR system (FA-17900) and assist with the installation in accordance with FAA engineering requirements and specifications.
