Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The requirement is for Resurfacing Brake Shoes (Meritor PN: A13-3722V360) for the 5-Ton 939 Series Trucks. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being request ed and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation number W9127Q-04-T-0012 is issued as a Request for Quotes. The solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-15. This solici tation is 100% small business set aside and is restricted to small businesses only in accordance with FAR 19.502-2(b). NAICS is 811111, Small Business Standard is $6,000,000. The resultant contract will be a performance-based requirements contract, base y ear with option to extend the contract two additional years. Individual task orders shall be placed against the contract when the Government has a requirement for the services. Item 0001--Base Year (Feb 04-Sept 04) Estimated Qty 2,400; Item 0002--Option Year (Oct 04-Sept 05) Estimated Qty 2,400; Item 0003--Option Year (Oct 05- Sept 06) Estimated Qty 2,400. The requirement is for The Mississippi Readiness Sustainment Maintenance Site (MSRSMS), Camp Shelby, MS 39407. Prices quoted must include all applicab le pick-up and delivery fees. Response time for picking up the Brake Shoes shall be the next business day after receipt of the order. Shoes will be delivered back to MSRSMS within 7 days after pick up. All Shoes must be inspected in accordance with the manufacturers specifications prior to them being resurfaced. All shoes that meet the manufacturers specifications will be cleaned and resurfaced. All unserviceable shoes will be returned to MSRSMS at no additional charge to the Government. Shoes resur faced that are found faulty by the Government will be returned to the contractor for resurfacing at no additional cost to the Government. Additional ap plicable FAR Clauses: FAR 52.247-34 FOB Destination; FAR 52.216-18, Ordering (Oct 1995). (a) Any supplies and services to be furnished under this contract shall be ordered by issuance of delivery orders or task orders by the individuals or activities de signated in the Schedule. Such orders may be issued from time of contract award through September 30, 2004; 52.216-19, Order Limitations (Oct 1995) (a) Minimum order. When the Government requires supplies or services covered by this contract in an amount o f less than 26 Brake Shoes, the Government is not obligated to purchase, nor is the Contractor obligated to furnish, those supplies or services under the contra ct. (b) Maximum order. The Contractor is not obligated to honor -(1) Any order for a single item in excess of 46 Brake Shoes; (2) Any order for a combination of items in excess of 46 Brake Shoes. (3) A series of orders from the same ordering office wit hin 7 days that together call for quantities exceeding the limitation in subparagraph (b)(1) or (2) of this section. Notwithstanding paragraphs (b) and (c) of this section, the Contractor shall honor any order exceeding the maximum order limitations in pa ragraph (b), unless that order (or orders) is returned to the ordering office within 7 days after issuance, with written notice stating the Contractor??????s intent not to ship the item (or items) called for and the reasons. Upon receiving this notice, the Government may acquire the supplies or services from another source. 52.216-21,Requirements (Oct 1995). This is a requirements contract for the supplies and effective for the period stated. The quantities of supplies specified are estimates only. Except as this contract may otherwise provide, if the Governments requirements do not result in orders in the quantities described as estimates or maximum, that fact shall not constitute the basis for an equitable price adjustment. Any order issued during the eff ective period of this resultant contract and not completed within that period shall be completed by the Contractor within the time specified in the order. The contract shall govern the Contractors and Governments rights and obligations with respect to that order to the same extent as if the order were completed during the contracts effective period; provided, that the Contractor shall not be required to make any deliveries under this contract after September 30, 2004. 52.217-9, Option to Extend the Term o f the Contract (Mar 2000): (a) The Government may extend the term of this contract by written notice to the Contractor within 30 days; provided that the Government gives the Contractor a preliminary written notice of its intent to extend at least 60 days before the contract expires. The preliminary notice does not commit the Government to an extension. (b) If the Government exercises this option, the extended contract shall be considered to include this option clause. (c) The total duration of this contrac t, including the exercise of any options under this clause, shall not exceed beyond September 30, 2006. 52.232-19, Availability of Funds for the Next Fiscal Year (Apr 1984).
