Description
The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with the Alcon Corporation of Fort Worth Texas to furnish and install an Alcon Infiniti(tm) Vision System for the Chicago Health Care System, VA Medical Center West Side, Chicago IL. Complete system shall include a Videoverlay, Footswitch, and the Aqualase Liquefaction Device Hand Piece. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 339112. Special features required by the Medical Center include but are not limited to the following: 1) The Aqualase(r) system for lens removal 2). Complete system with the ability to monitor both vacuum and irrigation.3). Linear control of phaco tip stoke length during ultrasound 4). Linear control of ultrasound during burst mode 5). Onscreen step-by-step animated setup system,6). High fluidics attained by the ability to run higher vacuum levels with lower occlusion breaks (600-700 mm/mg vacuum). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements, may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within ten (10) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with the Alcon Corporation.
