Description

The Government announces its requirement to procure for the replacement of Air-Conditioning Unit ?FOW- 7-1? at the Federico Degteau Federal Building, 150 Carlos Chardon Ave., Hato Rey, PR. The contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools and supervision. Work shall include, but is not limited to, selective demolition of existing cement masonry units, removal of existing air-conditioning unit ?FOW7-1?, disposal of all debris, protection of all roof surfaces, replacement of duct work, installation of new cement masonry unit wall, installation of required electrical systems and panel board, surface preparation and painting of walls, installation of new air-conditioning system machinery, ductwork and related appurtenances, and all mechanical and electrical work required in connection with the improvements. The magnitude of this construction project is estimated between $100,000 and $250,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238220 and the size standard is $12 million. Performance and payment bonds will be required following award pursuant to the Miller Act. A bid guarantee is also required. This procurement is 100% set-aside for HUBZone small business concerns. Offers from other than HUBZone small business concerns will not be considered. All responsible HUBZone sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. The required construction completion date is 75 calendar days commencing one day after the notice to proceed. The solicitation number is GS-02P-04-PIC- 0003. The anticipated solicitation release date is January 30, 2004. This solicitation incorporates documents which are not available electronically on the Government wide Point of Entry (GPE). Interested parties may access the solicitation at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. This site provides instructions for downloading the solicitation file. The solicitation, amendments to the solicitation, specifications and drawings will be available through a secured internet site. Interested parties shall send all requests to access the secured internet site and requests for the solicitation to the attention of Rubin Padilla at the e-mail or mailing addresses shown in this presolicitation notice. Contractors are requested to provide a street address, telephone number, business license or other documentation granted by the state or local jurisdiction to conduct business, valid DUNS number, valid IRS Tax ID Number and e-mail address. Contractors will also be required to sign a Document Security Notice. Once the request for the solicitation has been accepted, one e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address provided. The e-mail will provide instructions for entry into the secured Internet site and access to the solicitation. Contractors should request e-mail notification from FedBizOpps in order to remain apprised of solicitation. Telephone or facsimile requests will not be accepted for this solicitation. See Note 1.
