Description
NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the design, construction, and installation of an Automatic Roll Coupling and Support Dolly at the 14 X 22 Foot Subsonic Tunnel, Building 1212C, NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA. The scope of work includes but is not limited to, the following: BASE REQUIREMENT: Fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning of the Roll Coupling and controls. All base requirement activities will be performed in accordance with the specifications and drawings which will be available when the IFB is released. OPTION 1: Construction of a Support Dolly for the Automatic Roll Coupling. All option requirement activities will be performed in accordance with the specifications and drawings which will be available when the IFB is released. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $500,000 to $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 300 calendar days after notice to proceed. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 332999 and 500 Employees, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about January 26, 2004 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about February 27, 2004. The firm date for receipt of bids will be stated in the IFB. Drawings will be available from the Bid Distribution Office after the IFB is released. Instructions for obtaining drawings will be referenced in the IFB. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of the drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. The Internet site, or URL, for the NASA/LaRC Business Opportunities page is http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=23 Prospective offerors shall notify this office of their intent to submit an offer. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). The date and time for an organized site visit will be referenced in the IFB.
