- Description
- The principle features of work to be performed under this contract include the following: A. Construction of one new wood-frame, two-story, 8 unit housing building including exterior decks and stairs, and one new wood-frame two-story 6 unit housing building including exterior decks and stairs (Axis B to C omitted). B. Construction of a sewer line from the existing sewer main and sewer service connections to the new housing units as identified in the specifications and shown on the drawings. C. Installation of a water main from the existing main and water service and meter to the new housing units as identified in the specifications and shown on the drawings. D. Installation of a new primary and secondary electrical service to the new housing units as identified in the specifications and shown on the drawings. This work will also include the installation of buried conduit, pedestals and conductors for Telephone and Cable TV utilities. Electrical service work ahead of the primary side of the transformers will be accomplished by AEL&P and paid for by the contractor. E. Construction of crushed aggregate parking lot and access road, gate and concrete curbs and sidewalks as identified in the specifications and shown on the drawings. F. Landscaping as identified in the specifications and shown on the drawings. Landscaping is limited to slope restoration, seeding and planting bed landscaping. ADDITIVE ITEMS: The following items are included within the contract as additive bid items and weill be part of the work if awarded: A. Appliances (Kitchen Range, Refrigerators, Washing Machines and Clothes Dryers). B. Bituminous )Asphalt Concrete) Paving for the Access Road and Parking Lot. C. Construction of an Additional 1 bedroom unit on Upper and lower floors, including appliances (Axis B to C) on the 6 unit building. D. Installation of Electronic Hydronic Baseboard Heaters in lieu of the specified Baseboard Electric Heaters. LOCATION OF THE WORK: The work is located at the Forest Service Glacier Loop Administrative Site in Juneau, AK. The project is off Back Loop Road in the Mendenhall Valley, approximately 11 miles northwest of downtown Juneau, AK. Juneau is accessible by the Alaska Marine Highway system, commercial airlines and commercial barge service. Solicitation will be available for download from FedBizOpps on 20 Jan 04.
