- Description
- The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in collaboration with the Kenya Medical Research Center (KEMRI) intends to award on a sole source basis, a Purchase Order for conducting a community-randomized program evaluation regarding the use of over the counter antimalarial drugs in the treatment of malaria in Kenya. The authority for this procurement is FAR Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. The period of performance under this Purchase Order will begin with award of the purchase order order through September 30, 2004. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS AND NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE. ANTICIPATED AWARD DATE IS JANUARY 12, 2004. FIRMS THAT BELIEVE THEY CAN PROVIDE THE REQUIRED SERVICES ARE ENCOURAGED TO IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AND GIVE WRITTEN NOTIFICATION TO THE CONTRACTING OFFICER, BY THE CLOSE OF THIS SYNOPSIS (1/8/2004.) A DETERMINATION BY THE GOVERNMENT NOT TO COMPETE THIS PROPOSED ACTION BASED ON RESPONSES TO THIS NOTICE IS SOLELY WITHIN THE DISCRETION OF THE GOVERNMENT. INFORMATION RECEIVED IN RESPONSE TO THIS SYNOPSIS WILL BE CONSIDERED SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DETERMINING WHETHER TO CONDUCT A COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT.
