Description

The 11t Contracting Squadron, Bolling AFB DC intends to award a simplified acquisition purchase order on a sole source basis to Verizon Federal Inc. The purpose of this procurement is for the renewal of Bolling's annual Internet subscription service. The requirement is being acquired Sole Source based on the proprietary rights established by the Verizon telecommunication network currently in use. Replacing Verizon’s phone lines would allow other Internet service providers to compete and provide service, but this is a costly solution and would need to be done annually to foster a competitive environment for vendors. The option to replace phone lines annually is not in the best interest of the government and therefore not a viable solution. Award of this solicitation will be made on or about 09 DEC 03.
