- Description
- The United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General is seeking qualified sources with a federal law enforcement background. The OIG conducts audits and investigations to prevent and detect fraud, waste, abuse and mismanagement affecting the Postal Service. The qualified supplier will provide professional, technical and analytical support of operations, functions, and programs in order to determine adequacy and adherence to applicable laws, policies and procedures. These oversight reviews will be on a national basis and at division level or lower. Review areas will include, but are not limited to, use of confidential funds, closed internal affairs investigations, closed inspections, informant program, and review of closed investigative files. Qualified suppliers must have demonstrated federal law enforcement career experience in the subject matter and be able to pass a background investigation. Supplier will be provided office space, telecommunications, and computer support for security reasons. The supplier must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel software. The successful supplier will prepare, issue and/or review reports and summaries of recommendations and findings. The supplier will maintain liaison with offices, agencies and appropriate organizations as needed. Additionally, the successful supplier will perform moderately complex or multi-faceted work projects that could be more involved as a result of the prominence, characteristics or sensitivity of the areas reviewed. The supplier may be required to interpret a wide variety of data in order to reach conclusions and recommendations, including situations when data is incomplete or missing and may involve issues that may combine into a national level focus or issue. This Sources Sought synopsis is not a request for quotation for competitive quotes. Interested suppliers may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:00 p.m. local time on Friday, January 9, 2004. Such capabilities and qualifications be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining availability of sources. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
