Description

This serves as a sources sought notice regarding a proposed U.S. Air Force Academy contract for cam-lock joint aluminum strips. The strips are used by the Air Force Academy Fencing Team to construct and define fencing competition areas. The proposed size of the aluminum strips is approximately 1.5 m x 17 m x 2.5 cm high. Approximately three sets of the aluminum strips will be required. The proposed acquisition of aluminum strips must comply with the provisions of FAR 252.225-7000. Specifically, the purchase of aluminum strips must meet the following requirements: (1) the aluminum strips must be manufactured in the United States and (2) the cost of the domestic components of the product must exceed 50 percent of the cost of all the components. The aluminum stripping may also be acquired from a foreign source when the product is mined produced or manufactured in a qualified county as defined in FAR 252.225-7000. All interested business concerns shall indicate interest in this acquisition by providing the company name, mailing address, phone number, and electronic mail address to john.kurko@usafa.af.mil, no later than 2:00 p.m., MST, 24 December 2003. Interested offerors shall submit information supporting their ability to provide the aluminum strips in accordance with the requirements listed herein and a completed ?Representations and Certifications/Commercial Items? document. A ?Representations and Certifications? document maybe accessed at //farsite.hil.af.mil. For purposes of this acquisition, the NAICS code being considered is 421910. The anticipated business size is $6.0 million. A synopsis maybe issued at a later date to provide solicitation issuance details.
