- Description
- In response to The Medicare Prescription Drug Improvement Modernization Act of 2003, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will conduct a demontration project to evaluate the use of recovery audit contractors in identifying and recouping overpayments under the Medicare program. In accordance with the P.L. 108-173, Section 306, preference will be given to audit firms demonstrating more than 3 years of direct management experience and proficiency for cost control or recovery audits with private insurers, health care providers, health plans, or under the Medicaid program. CMS will conduct the demonstration with at least 3 contractors in at least 2 states with the highest per capital utilization rates of Medicare services. Interested parties meeting the stated qualifications shall provide their names,addresses, points of contact and a one page explanation supporting their qualifications in hard copy format only to Carol Sevel, 7500 Security Boulevard, MS C2-21-15, Baltimore, MD 21244-1850. Information is due to CMS no later than January 16, 2004. CMS is in the process of determining the appropriate acquisition strategy. CMS plans to use this FedBizOpps website to communicate information on this activity to interested parties. Therefore, it is recommended that interested parties register to receive alerts notifying them when additional information on this activity is posted.
