Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate a renewal order for equipment rental on a sole source basis under simplified acquisition procedures with Ascom Hasler Mailing Systems, Inc. of 19 Forest Parkway, Shelton, CT 06484. SSA will use this method to continue rental on the following Ascom Hasler postage meter model quantities for a one-year period beginning January 1, 2004 through December 31, 2004: one (1) Ascom Hasler Postage Meter Model#16413XTMO; nineteen (19) Ascom Hasler Postage Meter Model#16463TMO; four (4) Ascom Hasler Postage Meter Model#16463XTMO; six (6)Ascom Hasler Postage Meter Model#17563XTMO; two (2)Ascom Hasler Postage Meter Model#1441XTMO; one (1) Ascom Hasler Postage Meter Model#17563XTMO;five (5) Ascom Hasler Postage Meter Model#17563TMO; four (4) Ascom Hasler Postage Meter Model#4280TMOS. Ascom Hasler is the only known source that can provide this rental, and the Ascom Hasler meters are the only meters compatible with agency-owned mailing metering equipment located at SSA facilities throughout the continental U.S. and in Hawaii. SSA does not intend to replace this equipment and will not consider proposals to replace this equipment. Interested firms able to provide the service are invited to submit information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to provide the required rentals. Cross-reference to previously submitted material is discouraged. No cost or pricing data is requested or required. This is not a request for proposals and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of data received, but sources deemed qualified will be solicited if requests for proposals are issued. Responses to this notice should be submitted in duplicate within 3 business days of the publication of this notice and should refer to Ascom Hasler Equipment Rental.
