Description
Briefly, and without force and effect upon contract documents, the intent of the project is to finish a portion of the 3rd floor of the Patrick V. McNamara Federal Building for the renovation of the U.S. Customs SAIC Office. A. Furnish demolition operations as required to complete the project. Remove existing suspended ceiling grid, acoustic tiles, lighting, electrical and data outlets, partitions, carpet, doors and frames. Remove portion of the HVAC system. All abandoned wire to be identified and removed from underfloor ducts under Contract Option #1, see Section 01260, OPTIONS. B. Two corridors within the project limits are paths of egress from adjacent tenant spaces. The corridors shall remain clear, with sprinkler protection, lighting, exit signage and door operation as required by code. C. New work to include steel stud and gypsum board partitions and finishes. Several partitions have security mesh, sound insulation, and/or antiballistic wall liner. See drawings for specific wall construction. Furnish and install new doors, frames and hardware. Furnish and install new suspended ceiling grid, acoustic tiles, carpet, vinyl composition tile and base. Furnish and install new lighting and power. Power shall be supplied from above the suspended ceiling. Reconfigure existing HVAC system, furnish and install new ducts, grilles, thermostats and related hardware as required for new construction. D. The building has an existing fire alarm system. Relocate existing ceiling mounted fire alarm devices as required to accommodate new partitions and ceiling systems. Integrate new alarms as needed into the existing system. E. The building has an existing fire sprinkler system. Relocate existsing branches and sprinkler heads, provide new sprinkler heads as required for new construction. Potential offerors are encouraged to visit the site of performance. The contract completion time is 200 days from receipt of notice to proceed. The estimated range of this project is $500,000.00 to $1,000,000.00. The solicitation will be set aside for small business concerns. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 and the size standard is $28.5 million. The solicitation will be issued on or about January 13, 2004. Once you have registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database you will be required to register with the Federal TEchnical Data Solicitation (FedTeDS) system. PLEASE NOTE: No federal material can be downloaded until you have registered under both sites. You may access FedTeDS via the following URL http://www.FedTeDS.gov. You will then be required to access the vendor registration form by selecting the hyperlink entitled, "Register with FedTeDS" and then choosing the "Vendor Registration Form" hyperlink. At a minimum, all vendors must supply the following information: Your Company's Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Marketing Partner Identification Number (MPIN). (You can get this from your company's CCR Point of Contact.) Your Company's DUNS Number or CAGE Code (Contact Dun & Bradstreet at 1-800-333-0505 if you do not have a D&B Number), Your Telephone Number, and Your E-mail Address. The solicitation cited above can only be obtained by accessing a secure website known as the FedTeDS. FedTeDS is a secure website designed to safeguard sensitive but unclassified (SBU) acquisition information. It is fully integrated with other electronic government initiatives such as FedBizOpps and the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database, and is available for use by all Federal agencies. In order to obtain information from FedTeDS, you will first be required to register with CCR. The Central Contractor Registration database is a part of the Business Partner Network, an e-gov initiative, and will be used to validate vendor identity. Effective October 1, 2003, all government contractors must be registered in CCR prior to receiving an award. You may access CCR at the following URL www.bpn.gov do not have a D&B Number, Your Telephone Number, Your E-mail address.
