- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to TITAN Systems (formerly International Systems) for an Affordable Weapons System (AWS). The tasks with which to accomplish this are production engineering, production tooling, missile design maturation, missile fabrication, missile assembly, launcher design maturation, launcher fabrication, launcher testing, and the operational testing and evaluation as required in order to complete the evolution of the AWS to an operational system. It is anticipated that a Cost-Type and Firm Fixed Price contract will result from a request for proposal (RFP). The place of performance is Titan System, San Diego, CA for all production work and at the Desert Center or Government Test Range for operational testing and evaluation. The purpose of this requirement is to finalize COTS component designs, fabricate units an d complete testing to provide an operational and effective Affordable Weapons System (AWS). The contract will be for a base period of 1 year and 4 one-year options. This is a continuation of services provided under a research contract number N47408-02-C-7312. A RFP is expected to be issued on or around the 2nd Quarter GFY 04. TITAN (formerly International Systems) is the incumbent and the only source with the technical capability and resources of meeting the support needs in the required delivery time frame.
