- THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. There is no solicitation available at this time. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is conducting market research to identify sources and obtain information on image-stabilized binoculars. The image-stabilized binoculars will be used for visually acquiring ground targets from aircraft flying in excess of 15,000 feet above ground level. NAVAIR is interested in image-stabilized binoculars that do not require an external power source. In addition, the image-stabilized binoculars are to be small and lightweight due to aircraft requirements, although specific size and weight requirements are not defined. An image-stabilized binocular with night vision capabilities is also desired. It is requested that all interested parties submit documentation on their current product that meets the requirements listed above. Information in the way of existing company brochures, product brochures, drawings, sketches, etc., along with a cover letter providing an explanation of how the company?s proposed product solution can meet, or be modified to meet, the requirements of this announcement is requested. Responses submitted in digital formats, readable by Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft WORD or POWERPOINT, are strongly encouraged. All questions relating to this announcement must be submitted in writing (i.e. fax, e-mail, or letterhead). Telephone responses will not be acknowledged or returned. All responses will be kept confidential. This is a request for information only. This is not a request for proposal nor is it an indication that the Navy will contract for these supplies in the future. The Navy will not pay for information received in response to this synopsis. Proprietary data in the responses will be protected where so designated.
