- NA Description of Work and Equipment: The 2004 project work includes the placement of approximately 600,000 cubic yards on 1.3 miles of beach just south of FT. Pierce Inlet. The beach project will include an option. The base will include placement of approx imately 300,000 cubic yards from R-34 to R-38 and the option will require placement on the remaining length of beach. The berm width varies along the project at Elevation 10.6 mlv and the construction slope of the fill is 1 vertical on 10 horizontal. The material for the Ft. Pierce segment will come from an offshore borrow area 3.5 miles southeast of the project site which has been used on previous projects. Derrick barge, work barges, tugboats, Hopper Dredge, bulldozers, booster/mono-buoy and front-end l oaders will be used. Estimated construction time is 74 Calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP) if the base and option is awarded. Base performance period is 53 calendar days (includes 30 days mob/demob)and Option A work is 21 calendar days . All work must be completed by the close of the May 30, 2004 environmental window. Magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The solicitation will be issued on or about 19 December 2003 with bids due on or about 03 February 2004 This solicitation will be posted on our web site.
