- Description
- The Coast Guard intends to solicit, negotiate and award a sole-source procurement using procedures under FAR Part 13.5 Test programs for Certain Commercial Items to Club One Fitness, 1200 Clay Street, Oakland, CA 94612. The United States Coast Guard requires approximately 75 memberships to a fitness facility (gym) in the vicinity of the Federal Building in downtown Oakland. Memberships are sought at a fitness center with equipment and facilities similar to the accommodations located on Coast Guard Island. The fitness facility shall be able to accommodate members of both male and female gender at any given time during the hours of 5:45 A.M. to 6:30 P.M., Monday through Friday. It is not expected that Coast Guard members will use the fitness center during weekends. The facility shall provide separate male & female showers and locker rooms as well as towel services. Locker rooms shall possess adequate day use lockers to accommodate Coast Guard needs. The facility shall provide the following fitness options: more than one racquetball court, a basketball court, a heated swimming lap pool, group exercise classes, and a large selection of cardiovascular equipment, weight machines, & free weights. Availability of group exercise classes shall include one class per day, Monday through Friday, during the hours of 1100-1300. Availability of cardiovascular equipment shall include treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bikes, stair-steppers, and rowing machines. Availability of weight machines shall include those for all major muscle groups and shall have selectable weights. Availability of free weights shall include those for all major muscle groups to include: 1) Various barbells ranging from 10 lbs to 100 lbs; 2) Various dumbbells ranging from 10 lbs to 100 lbs; 3) Bench presses. CRITICAL REQUIREMENT: The facility shall be located within 10 minutes travel time (including any ?waiting time?) from the lobby of the Oakland Federal Building?s North Tower. The initial period of performance is expected to run 8 months. There will be four (4) one year options that may be exercised at the discretion of the Coast Guard. Membership shall include initiation fee and monthly maintenance fee. Membership cards/passes shall be issued in the name of ?United States Coast Guard? and not to any one individual (Federal regulations do not allow use of government funds to purchase memberships in the names of individuals). Multiple people may use each pass, e.g., different people may use the same pass in the morning, at noontime and in the evening. It is expected that additional memberships may be purchased up to a total of 100 based on Coast Guard personnel interest and desired usage. Although the government reserves the right to decrease memberships annually based on decreased interest and usage without additional financial obligations or commitments. All memberships shall be effective from the date of purchase through the end of the first contract period. This is not a request for quotations. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to satisfy the Government?s requirement. A solicitation document is not available at this time. If no responses are received within seven (7) days with sufficient information to determine that another responsible source is available, negotiations will be conducted with the Club One Fitness.
