- This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought synopsis only. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to gain knowledge of a potential qualified 8(a) source. The Fleet & Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Detachment Philadelphia is considering entering into a sole source 8(a) service contract for the Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP) Philadelphia for logistic support services for Support Equipment Recommendation Data (SERD) processing. Specifically, new aircraft, targets, ranges, missiles, avionics systems, engines, armaments, and mine sweeping systems acquired by the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) require Support Equipment (SE) for operational readiness. To ensure that SE is available for support of these weapon systems when they become operational, the Navy utilizes a procedure known as the Support Equipment Recommendation Data (SERD) process. Responses to this sources sought announcement will not be considered adequate responses to a solicitation, a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of a solicitation. No solicitation is currently available. This is not a request for proposal and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. Do not send price proposal/quotes. Interested firms in the above services should submit a capability statement describing how your firm?s unique capabilities can satisfy the Navy?s SERD requirements. Responses to this notice shall include company name, address, point of contact, phone number, and documentation confirming they are a certified 8(a) firm. A written response addressing the above must not be more than 5 pages in length, single-sided, double-spaced, on standard size paper, using No. 10 Courier New font. Responses to this notice shall be mailed to Fleet & Industrial Supply Center Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia, 700 Robbins Avenue, Bldg. 2B, Philadelphia, PA 19111-5083, Attn: F. Moretti, Code 02P12B or email: frank.moretti@navy.mil. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses must be received in writing no later than 4:00 pm (local time), January 7, 2004.
