LAWRENCE LIVERMORE NATIONAL LABORATORY SEEKS COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIPS TO SUPPORT RADIOLOGICAL AND NUCLEAR NATIONAL SECURITY AND HOMELAND SECURITY MISSION PRIORITIES Announcement: Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), operated by the University of California under contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), is offering expertise, capabilities, and technology to conduct collaborative research and development work with industrial partners to support Radiological and Nuclear National Security and Homeland Security mission priorities. LLNL conducts research to aid in the development of radiological and nuclear countermeasures. Key areas of emphasis include the development of new radiation detection technologies and their deployment and application. Additional efforts are ongoing in the areas of systems analysis, research into the medical effects of radiation exposure and the development of crisis and consequence management tools. LLNL is now seeking industrial partners for collaborations in the development, deployment and commercialization of technologies in these areas, with a particular emphasis being placed on radiation detection technologies and their deployment. Key ongoing activities include the development of detection technologies that rely on new materials, development of hardware and software for imaging applications, and the development of improved analysis software to improve isotopic identification. Note: THIS IS NOT A PROCUREMENT. Companies interested in working with LLNL should have specific projects and opportunities for joint research and development work to support Radiological and Nuclear National Security and Homeland Security mission priorities. Companies should provide a written statement of interest that includes the following: 1. Company name and address. 2. The name, address, and telephone number of a point of contact. 3. A description of corporate expertise and facilities relevant to developing and commercializing radiological and nuclear technology. 4. A description of specific projects and opportunities for joint research and development work with LLNL.
