- NA The following questions were asked by a potential supplier under this RFI. Both the questions and answers are posted in this ammendment to share the information with all interested suppliers. Q1. Is there a current milspec for small arms lubricants? A1. MIL-PRF-63460D, Performance Specification, Lubricant, Cleaner, and Preservative for Weapons and Weapons Systems. Q2. Will one be issued after industry input is received or is this an effort to build a performance specification ? A2. Industry input will be used to assist with the development of a user-defined, operationally-based performance criteria and the test & evaluation methodology for a special lubricant for desert environments. Candidate lubricants will be evaluated again st this performance criteria. Q3. Is the lubricant going to be evaluated as to it's performance in the desert environment only, or should the lubricant also perform in a wet environment. A3. The user-defined operationally-based performance criteria will contain the specific environments for which it applies. Currently, the user is focusing on the desert environments only.
