- NA The U.S.Army has a requirement to upgrade a roller load test facility located at the Soldier Systems Center, Kansas Street, Natick, Massachusetts. The work under this solicitation is for the purpose of upgrading and modernizing the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Center Roller Load Test Facility. The report entitled: Conceptual Design Description describes the current condition of the facility and provides recommendations for upgrading and modernizing. This report and its recommendations are provided for informati on only. The specific changes required by this requirement are as follows: Remove the C-141 roller test capability, increase the length of the usable test bed from 28 ft. to 32 ft., retain the existing horizontal pull test device, add a C-17 airdrop roller test capability, add a C-17 logistics roller test capability add a C-130H roller test capability, add a C-130J roller test capability, provide and install modern computerized roller instrumentation, provide and install a 60,000 lb. capacity hoist, provide and install modern pull test instrumentation and controls. In addition, a general refurbishment of the interior of the building to improve safety, work efficiency and storage is required. The effort should encompass all aspects of the upgrade and modernization work so that, at completion of the contract, the facility will be fully ready to operate by Government employees. The NAICS code for this procurement is 333923. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price contract. A site visit will be held on 11 December 2003. Work will be performed at the U.S.Army Soldier System Center, Natick, MA 01760. The Solicitation and the drawings will be made available only at the site visit. Attendance at the site visit is highly encouraged due to the unique nature of this project.
