Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This Request for Quotation incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-17. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 333618. The small business size standard is 1000 employees. This is an unrestricted procurement. The purchase order will be awarded using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13 as a firm fixed price supply purchase order. The USCG has a 55ft Aids Navigation Boat (ANB) that requires engine replacement. This procurement is for two overhauled Detroit Diesel DDC RBX 12V71T1 engines (one R.H. and one L.H) to include removal of old engines and installation of overhauled engines. The company awarded the order will take possession of the removed engines. The work is to be performed at USCG ANT Port O?Connor, 2307 A Maple St., Port O?Connor, TX 77978. The work statement is as follows; removal and reinstallation of engines, components and fluids needed to allow the engines to run in parameters. This includes but is not limited to cables, controls, gauges, associated hardware, parts to repair exterior of engine, electronic/electrical parts, tests and sea trials and any other work necessary to prepare for and accomplish the installation and removal necessary to ensure that the engines are fully operational. The company will be responsible for supplying the crane necessary for removal and installation of the engines. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with the original equipment manufacturers (OEM) manuals and parts to ensure that the boats equipment and systems remain configured to existing baselines. Any deviations shall be approved by the point of contact listed below for technical questions. Warranty information shall be submitted with quotation and specify coverage for parts and labor and procedures for obtaining warranty work. The point of contact for technical questions concerning the work to be performed shall be directed to CWO Mank at 361-888-3378 or MKC Juhnke at 361-438-5403. All questions concerning this request for quotation shall be directed to Ms. Sherri Peele at 757-628-4640. The Coast Guard does not own nor can it provide specifications, plans, drawings or other technical data. Inspection and acceptance shall be at destination after successful sea trial. Desired completion of work is 3 weeks after receipt of order. Anticipated award date is December 3, 2003. All responsible sources may submit a quote, which shall be considered by the Agency.
