The 11th is reserved for one-on-one discussions beginning at 8:00 AM and ending at approximately 4:00 PM, also at the Poe Conference Center. One-on-one sessions will be limited to 15-minute blocks. Seats for the conference on the 10th and one-on-one meetings on the 11th will be assigned on a first come bases. Unless requested differently, the earliest respondents will be assigned the earliest meeting times on the 11th. Because our venue will only permit 100 people to attend, we request that representatives be limited to two per company. If you would like to send more than two representatives, please let us know and if space is available we will notify you. If we do not hear from you by 2 Dec 2003 we will permit more than two representatives per company to attend. There will be a $10 conference fee for each attendee. Request the fee be paid at the time of registration on the 10th. The purpose of this interactive Industry Day is to identify Purchasing and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) best practices for Federal Stock Classes 1620, 1630 and 2620, which encompass Landing Gear, Wheel, Brakes and Tires (LWBT) for a variety of Air Force managed aircraft. A LWBT Commodity Council has been formed, and will be pursuing the development of an AFMC enterprise sourcing strategy, which could result in contractual documents for new purchases and repairs for FSC?s 1620, 1630 and 2620 items managed by the USAF. The intent of the conference on the 10th is to introduce interested contractors to PSCM concepts, discuss current obstacles and impediments to doing business from both industry and government perspectives, and to discuss specific corrective solutions. Those who are interested in attending this conference should Email Stephen Weiss at mailto:stephen.weiss@hill.af.mil. Please provide the name(s) of the party attending. The name(s) will be used to permit access to the base and entry to the conference. Once your request to attend has been received, additional information will be provided to you. If interested, a one-on-one meeting time may also be requested on the 11th to discuss specific issues of concern or recommendations. Several considerations that may affect current or potential suppliers are potential new source qualification procedures, development of multiple-award contracts to cover many requirements within 1620 and 1630 FSC?s, and streamlined solicitation procedures. The Industry Day format will include a government overview of PSCM, current obstacles and impediments, PSCM solutions being considered, and a open discussion / general question and answer session. It is our objective to understand how we can improve all aspects of our Landing Gear, Wheel, Brake and Tire business. This is an advertisement for Industry Days only and no solicitation is available at this time. Any resulting procurement action will be the subject of a separate, future announcement. The Government will not reimburse attendees for any costs associated with participation and is under no obligation to award any contract associated with this event. Information is provided for discussion purposes only. Any potential strategy for this acquisition may change prior to solicitation release. If you have any questions, please contact Stephen Weiss, phone 801-586-3546 or Email, mailto:stephen.weiss@hill.af.mil.
