- THIS MODIFICATION IS ISSUED TO DELETE PRESOLICITATION NOTICE, RFQ-R8-04-05, IN ITS ENTIRETY, BECAUSE IT IS A DUPLICATION OF PRESOLICITATION NOTICE, RFQ-R8-04-01. The USDA, Forest Service, Southern Region is soliciting quotes for Exclusive-Use, Type III Helicopter services to conduct fire suppression and aerial ignition operations, using Premo Mark III (Ping Pong Ball Dispenser) machines, provide observation/recon platforms, and supply water drops for the control of wildfires and in support of prescribed fires for a 120-day period and 90-day period at two, different locations. The solicitation will be posted on this website on or about October 29, 2003. The designated base, for the 120-day period, will be at the National Forests in Texas in Lufkin, TX. The designated base, for the 90-day period, will be at the Kisatchie National Forest in Alexandria, LA. All responsible sources may submit a quote, which shall be considered by the agency. See Numbered Notes 12 and 13.
