Description
The Social Security Administration (SSA) requires the services of a contractor to provide medical consultant services in the specialty of Speech and Language Pathology. This procurement will be for commercial item services prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. Consultation services shall consist of the paper review of medical evidence in disability claims on-site only at 1221 Nevin Avenue, Richmond, CA. No patient contact. Offerors must: (1) have completed an approved Ph.D. or M.A. program; (2) have a valid Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; (3) have a current state license to practice speech pathology in the US; (4) have at least 5 years of post-graduate clinical experience relevant to speech/language disorders, preferably with children; and (5) be available for onsite work a minimum of 6 hours per week and for 44 weeks of the calendar year between 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. All potential contractors will be required to pass a security background check before beginning performance on an award. Prospective contractors shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database prior to award of a contract. Competitive pricing will be solicited and accepted. The expected date of contract will be in January 2004. The base period of performance shall be from the date of award through December 31, 2004, with provisions for the inclusion of a one-year option period. The solicitation is scheduled for release on or about November 13, 2003, with proposals due nineteen (19) days later. This requirement is a 100% small business set aside. Proposals received from other than small business will be deemed unacceptable and will be given no further consideration. No telephone requests for the solicitation will be accepted.
